Chen Dazheng, Vice President of Asia University (Asia University, Taiwan), and Shen Yufang and Guo Zhenan from the Department of Biomedicine participated in the 70th Skillsfuture (SSG) held at the 3D Printing Center of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore from January 12, 15 to 17, 2018. The 3D Printing for Rapid Product Development workshop is a 4-day course that introduces the principles, advantages, limitations, 3D printing technology application fields, and case studies of various industries.
More than 40 members from academics and industry from Singapore, China and Hong Kong participated in the seminars. In addition to gaining the latest knowledge of the latest 3D printing technology, they also knew a lot of people related to 3D printing technology Have more in-depth exchanges and seek opportunities for cooperation. The visit and exchanges at Nanyang Technological University made the cooperation channel between Asia University and Nanyang Technological University once again established.
Vice President Chen Dazheng pointed out that the 3D Printing Center of Nanyang Technological University has been subsidized by the Singapore government and is committed to the development of 3D printing in aerospace, construction, medical and biomedical fields. In the field of bioprinting, the 3D Printing Center of Nanyang Technological University has a high-end bioprinter, and is actively developing related multi-layer skin structure technology. The four-day study course is rich in content and compact. It is taught by Professor Cai Zhikai, director of the 3D Printing Center of Nanyang Technological University. The content is rich and easy to understand.
Two days before the seminar, we introduced various types of 3D printing technology, principles, and equipment in a simple way. On the third day, we visited all the machines and equipment of the 3D printing center of Nanyang Technological University, and introduced the doctoral students in charge. The school's 3D printing center purchases various high-end commercial machines, and is committed to the development of three-dimensional printing in aerospace, construction, medical and biomedical fields.
Vice President Chen Dazheng mentioned that the Asian University 3D Printing Center is committed to research and development in the medical field, and has more than 400 actual clinical medical cases, which is beyond the reach of the 3D Printing Center of Nanyang Technological University. The professor is willing to cooperate with us. The fourth day of the course explored the possible development and application of 3D printing technology in the future, and conducted a final test. He and teachers Shen Yufang and Guo Zhenan from the Department of Biomedicine both passed the high score and obtained a certificate issued by SSG.
In this seminar, in addition to learning more about 3D printing-related knowledge, we also learned that the development direction of our school's 3D printing center should continue to be oriented towards the original medical application. Continue to play, and must strive to maintain this advantage before developing other special areas. Only in this way can we compete with scholars and research institutes in other countries in the field of 3D printing and maintain a competitive advantage.
